About Me

Photographing real connection in the wild north.

Most couples who end up here are not looking for a traditional wedding or a photographer who simply shows up and takes photos.

They’re looking for something more intentional. An experience that feels relaxed, personal, and true to who they are.

I believe your story deserves more than pretty pictures. It deserves images that feel like memories. Honest, emotional, and grounded in how the moment actually felt.

I’m Jillian. A photographer, storyteller, and guide for couples who want something real. I photograph elopements and couples in the Lofoten Islands of Norway, helping people from all over the world create meaningful experiences here.

This landscape is wild and powerful, but it also creates space to slow down. To breathe. To connect. That’s where I do my best work.

Most couples tell me they felt nervous about being in front of the camera at first, and then surprised by how natural and relaxed the experience felt.

How I Got Here

I grew up in Ontario, Canada, surrounded by forests and lakes, and picked up my aunt’s SLR camera when I was ten. Photography quickly became my way of paying attention to the world.

A photo expedition in Africa at fifteen changed how I saw light, people, and stories. Later, I studied Creative Photography and spent years traveling through Canada, New Zealand, and eventually Norway, always drawn to places that felt raw and honest.

Then I fell in love. With a Norwegian man. With this landscape. With a slower way of life.

In 2020, I made Lofoten my home. Since then, I’ve photographed couples here in every season, learning how light, weather, and timing shape each experience.

Lofoten is also where our family has grown. Becoming a mother gave me a deeper appreciation for how quickly moments pass. These days our son is often our little adventure buddy and that perspective naturally influences how I photograph the people I work with.

My Approach

Being photographed shouldn’t feel like a performance.

Whether you’re eloping or simply documenting this season of your life together, the experience should feel relaxed and true to who you are. The best images happen when you’re focused on each other, not the camera.

I focus on connection over posing, and I guide gently so you always feel comfortable and natural.

What Makes Me Different

Lofoten isn’t somewhere I fly into for work. It’s home.

When I’m not photographing, you’ll usually find me hiking mountain trails, taking polar dips, snowboarding, or exploring the coastline on my SUP board. Years spent exploring here mean I know the quiet locations, the changing weather, and when plans need to adapt.

Together we choose places and timelines that actually work, based on real conditions rather than trends.

I love adventure, but never at the expense of comfort. The goal is an experience that feels both exciting and grounded. Epic landscapes paired with quiet, meaningful moments.

Most couples tell me afterward they felt relaxed, supported, and completely themselves.

What It’s Like to Work Together

We start by getting to know each other and what matters most to you.

On the day, I guide things calmly, keep an eye on everything happening around us, and make sure you can focus on each other instead of logistics.

I’m naturally calm and observant, but also the person who’ll cheer you on when you’re nervous and laugh with you when the weather turns dramatic. Many couples say it felt like spending the day with a friend who just happened to have a camera.

You don’t need to perform. You just need to show up as yourselves.

More Than Photos

The images you receive aren’t just files on a screen.

They’re reminders of how the air felt, how the wind moved, and what it felt like to choose each other in that place and moment.

These photographs often become some of the most meaningful things couples take home from their time in Norway. Something they return to. Something they carry with them long after the trip ends.

A Small Truth About Why This Matters To Me

Building a life here taught me how quickly moments pass and how important it is to slow down enough to actually feel them. That’s something I try to give every couple I work with.

If You’re Reading This and Thinking…

Maybe this feels like the kind of experience you’ve been hoping for, but you’re not totally sure yet. That’s completely normal.

Most couples start there. Curious, excited, and looking for someone they can trust to guide them through it all.

If that sounds like you, I’d love to hear what you’re dreaming up.

Let’s Create Something Meaningful

If you’re dreaming of a wedding day or session that feels intentional, honest, and deeply personal, I’d love to hear from you.

Whether that looks like quiet vows on a windswept beach, a mountaintop ceremony, or an intimate moment under changing Arctic light, we’ll plan it thoughtfully and photograph it with care.

Your love deserves to be captured in a way that feels real.
